Fellow citizens of The Reach,
I'm on a mission to make Tyrells a great house again. It looks really promising with the upcoming cards like Harrenhal which is actually a Stark card but I deem it the best Tyrell card ever.
I have made a list of houses that Tyrells have a bad match up against:
- Starks (Winterfell, Bran, Cant'elyn, Robb Stark and Grey Wind)
- Targaryen (Khal Drogo and Dracarys)
- Greyjoy (Euron StealsYourArbor Eye and Seastone Chair)
- Nightswatch (The Wall, Craven and Watchers)
- Lannister (TyWINOP)
- Martell (Sand Snakes and Attachments)
So as you can see, it seems like Tyrells have it the worst, in terms of card design and versatility.
Cue: There is my claim, Lady Olenna
BUT.
HOUSE Tyrell excels in raw strength, "Growing Strong" and card draw.
More card draw = More options
While other houses like Targaryen and Greyjoys struggle with card draw, you will always have a hand full of cards as a Tyrell player! If you don't, you're probably doing something wrong OR you just got Cersei-ed.
The other thing about Tyrells is that they have Knights. More Knights than you can imagine and these Knights gets renown when you play the right plot! Combo-deal.
Different Knights have different abilities to suit different situations. No Margaery? Marshal Ser Hobber Redwyne and you can search for her to marshal her at the same turn, assuming that you have enough gold which as a Tyrell player, once again, you should.
The BOMB that was promised. We have Renly Baratheon. Who doesn't love Renly Baratheon? No one? Okay.
